Yes. Most of our artists are professional painter and have been painting for over 15 years. We don’t work with students or art factories. The majority of our artists run their own studios.
We assign pet portraits to pet portraitists, and people portraits to people portraitists. Each painter we work with is somewhat different from another so we only assign artworks to those best suited. We care about the colors, the techniques and the styles. The colors have to be royal to the photos offered, with subtle tones and shade so they don’t feel easy or cheap. The technique and styles have to be right and natural, with correct layers of colors, with reasonable non-mechanical brushstrokes. We have very strict quality control. Before each painting is ready for preview, our top artists will check it to make sure it’s done both properly and artistically.
Portrait-Gift is a believer of “you pay for what you get”. Sure our cost can be brought down if we work with average artists, use cheap materials probably unnoticed by most customers, or employ less customer service members. But we don’t think it will make our customers happy in the end. Also our artists are not rich and they have to run their own studios.

Yes. We usually use yellowish or darkened colors. We don’t prefer cracked paintings for according to our experience they would be too fragile.
For 90% of the oil paintings, we use oil paints. Oil paints are great for realistic or impressionistic art. Acrylic artworks are much flatter and are often used for paintings of high contrast, sharp edges and abrupt color transition, like abstract art and pop art.

Almost anything can be painted with any medium. But we highly suggest the following for the best outcome of art.

A better quality image contains more details. The more details the artist see, the more accurately the artist will paint them with his or her brush.
A brief introduction about the painting to be worked on will offer a good source of inspiration for the artist to put his or her emotion into the artwork. Or as our customers comment – the artist put life into this artwork.
If it’s a portrait artwork, a background too complex would steal the focus from the portrait.
